getting ready for vermont

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
408 AM EST WED FEB 6 2008

...LONG DURATION PRECIPITATION EVENT TO IMPACT THE NORTH COUNTRY...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE OHIO VALLEY WILL MOVE EAST AND
NORTHEAST TODAY AND TONIGHT...TRACKING JUST SOUTH OF THE AREA.
THIS FEATURE WILL HELP TO BRING WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION TO THE
NORTH COUNTRY...MAINLY IN THE FORM OF ACCUMULATING SNOWS. SOME
MIXED PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL VERMONT THIS
MORNING. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT INTO THE FIRST PART OF
THURSDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES ACROSS THE
NORTH COUNTRY. GIVEN THE LONGER DURATION OF PRECIPITATION...EXPECT
SNOWFALL TO ACCUMULATE 4 TO 8 INCHES OVER THE NORTHERN AREAS AND 6
TO 12 INCHES OVER THE SOUTHERN AREAS.

PERSONS ACROSS THE NORTH COUNTRY SHOULD TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION
AND PREPARE FOR THIS LONGER DURATION SNOW EVENT. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS
EXPECTED WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON TRAVEL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE NORTH
COUNTRY.
